Recent heavy rains caused floods in localities of Khanh Hoa province for days. Upstream floodwater flowed tons of rubbish into the sea and polluted the beach, thus affecting the local tourism sector.
Earlier, the Nha Trang Urban Environment Co., Ltd. mobilized over 300 workers to collect rubbish round the clock, but too much rubbish overwhelmed their efforts.
The Standing Committee of the Khanh Hoa Youth Union organization, in cooperation with the above organizations launched the campaign cleaning the Nha Trang beach as well as raised people’s awareness of participating in climate change adaptation activities, preventing natural disasters, and protecting the maritime environment.
