PANO - The construction of the first bus station under the Hanoi Bus Rapid Transit (Hanoi BRT) system was begun on March 4th by the Management Board of the Hanoi Urban Transport Development Project of the Hanoi Transport Department.
This 5m wide station, covering 129 sq.m, is being built at the Hoang Minh Giam-Le Van Luong crossroads, meeting international standards.
Named “Nguyen Tuan Station”, this facility is designed suitably for the disabled, and installed with automatic sliding doors.
The station, with automatic ticket vending machines and ticket-checking machines, will serve passengers on route of Kim Ma-Giang Vo-Lang Ha-Extended Le Van Luong-Le Trong Tan-Quang Trung and Yen Nghia Bus Station.
Earlier, the Hanoi BRT Project built control centres at Kim Ma and Yen Nghia Bus Stations, and special lanes for such buses in the first quarter of last year.
The Project Management Board and the Hanoi Transport Department are speeding up other components of the project, so that Hanoi BRT could serve the locals soon.
