The 2009 Kovalevskaia Awards will be given to a group of female researchers from the Vietnam Nutrition Institute and Prof. Dang Kim Chi, former deputy head of the Institute for Environmental Science and Technology under the Hanoi University of Technology.

The award ceremony, to be held at the Hanoi Opera House, will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television on March 7th.

During the ceremony, an social exchange. entitled “Meeting with Vietnamese Intellectuals”, will also be held to celebrate International Women’s Day and the 1969th anniversary of the two Trung Sisters’ Uprising (Hai Bai Trung).

The Kovalevskaia Awards are presented every year to honour female groups, and individual women who have made great achievements in scientific research and the application of science for further socio-economic and cultural development.
