During the period of July 2021-July 2022, Vietnam attained remarkable achievements in the COVID-19 prevention and control, as well as socio-economic recovery which were highly appreciated by international friends.
Beside the close direction of the Party, State and great efforts of the political system, personnel tasked with external information work inside and outside the country well performed their assigned missions to popularize the image of the country, people, culture, history and values, contributing to fulfilling major political tasks in 2021 and 2022.
Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, during four months (from April to August, 2022) since it was launched, the organizing panel received 1,172 entries, an increase by 11% in comparison with the last year. It contributed to affirming the prestige and importance of the award. Some 200 entries were presented in 14 languages, and 70 works came from Vietnamese expats and foreigners.
Addressing the event, on behalf of the Party and State, Mr. Thuong acknowledged and hailed the great efforts of the organizing panel while congratulating the winners of this year’s award.

He also requested forces in charge of external information work to be well aware of the prestige and status of the country and situations in the world, so as to effectively disseminate information about the guidelines and policies of the Vietnamese Party and State, introduce the Vietnamese country, people and culture to international community in the coming time. Meanwhile, they were also asked to comprehensively take advantage of the work, promote digitization, especially the fight against hostile forces’ wrong viewpoints on the Party and State.
According to the organizing panel, this year’s works had good quality, reflected important economic, political, social and external affairs events of the country, praised President Ho Chi Minh, efforts in COVID-19 prevention and control, among others. Notably, works in foreign languages and by foreigners also contributed to displaying the achievements of the country in national development to international community.
Accordingly, the organizing panel awarded 12 outstanding works, including 10 first, 21 second, 30 third and 51 consolation prizes. The People’s Army Newspaper won two third and two consolation prizes.
