The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the SBC TV SA of Greece have agreed to cooperate in exchanges and utilisation of information, mainly financial and economic news in English.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the cooperation was signed in Hanoi on May 14th by Deputy Director of VNA’s Television Centre Vu Duy Hung and SBC TV SA Vice President Spyros Kouroupis.
Spyros Kouroupis is leading a delegation of Greek journalists to Vietnam from May 8-18, at the invitation of the Ministry of Information and Communication.
Earlier on the same day, Spyros Kouroupis held a working session with VNA Deputy General Director Nguyen Hoai Duong during which they agreed that there is much potential for VNA and SBC TV SA to expand their cooperation.
Both sides shared the view that the working session will benefit the establishment of a cooperative channel between the press agencies of Vietnam and Greece.
Duong introduced to his guests some features of VNA and its staff of over 2,300, including more than 1,000 correspondents and news editors.
With nearly 40 products available for readers to catch up on the latest news in all fields via print newspapers, news in pictures, e-newspapers, and others, VNA will look towards the development of other multimedia communication products, Duong added.
Spyros Kouroupis said he hopes the regular exchange of market information, particularly economic and finance news in English, between SBC TV SA and VNA, and the press agencies of the two countries, will benefit the commercial exchanges between Vietnam and Greece.
