Vietnamese students win first prize at Intel ISEF

PANO - The theme “Creating Fresh Water for Domestic Use from Sea Water under Vacuum Technology and Solar Power” brought the Vietnamese student team the first prize at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), held in the USA on May 12th-18th.
The research of Tran Bach Trung, Bui Thi Quynh Trang and Vu Anh Vinh from the Hanoi-Amsterdam Gifted High School in Hanoi, on this theme won the first prize in the field of Techniques (Electricity and Mechanics) at the Intel ISEF at national level.
Intel ISEF drew the participation of 1,549 contestants from 68 countries and territories in the world.
This was the fourth time that Vietnamese team participated in the contest and won the highest prize.
The Intel Foundation, the organiser, presented US$1,000 to each participating school whose students won prizes, and US$5,000 was rewarded to the best in each field (17 awards).
