Vietnam has a large potential for the development and application of super-small satellites, according to delegates at the 2011 International Conferences on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC 2011).
ATC 2011 was held on August 2nd in Da Nang Poly-technique University by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Vietnam Radio and Electronics Association (REV) with the participation of 200 experts from nearly 20 nations.
At the conference, delegates discussed the potential for the development of satellites and their application in life and various fields.
They underlined the usage and effectiveness of super-small satellites, especially when they are deployed to monitor boats and ships operating at high sea.
Vietnamese experts at the conference released that they in cooperation with their Swedish partners develop super-small satellites weighing about 1 kg each.
According to them, first super-small satellites are expected to be launched by the end of 2011.
