The Government Inspectorate of Vietnam (GI) held a meeting with a high-ranking delegation of Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) led by its President Panthep Klanarongran in Hanoi on August 5.

Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh said that since an agreement was inked in February 2012, the two agencies have organised practical cooperation activities and exchanged experiences in steering corruption prevention and control.

He expressed his hope that in the coming time, the GI and the NACC will carry out their cooperation agreement more effectively to match the two countries’ strategic partnership.

The Thai guest said he wants the two sides to enhance experience exchanges in asset and income declarations of cadres and public servants.

He also invited Huynh Phong Tranh to attend an ASEAN meeting on corruption prevention and control which will take place in Thailand this December.

During their week-long stay until August 10, the Thai delegation is scheduled to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, pay a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and attend a working session with the inspectorate of Ho Chi Minh City.
