PANO - The Vietnam Ministry of Health, in association with the Swedish Embassy and its Commercial Section to Vietnam, held a workshop on May 27th in Hanoi with the participation of representatives of the two sides and many delegates from major Vietnamese hospitals across the Northern region.
Addressing the workshop, Deputy Health Minister Ass. Prof. Dr. Pham Le Tuan held that the Vietnamese healthcare system achieved many results over the past time, but still faced many challenges during the national industrialization cause due to hospital overloads, low-quality health service, and increasingly demands of high-quality service for the middle class in society.

On the other hand, Vivianne Gillman, commercial attaché of Swedish Embassy, shared that the event would contribute to promoting the partnership between Vietnam and Sweden, adding that they are willing to hand over advanced medical technologies to help Vietnam solve these challenges.
In addition, Swedish Ambassador in Vietnam Camilla Mellander noted that the two countries had a long history of cooperation with many supports to build hospitals in Vietnam, such as National Hospital of Paediatrics or Vietnam - Sweden Hospital in Uong Bi district, Quang Ninh province. Besides, many researchers and cooperative programs have been implemented by two sides' hospitals and research institutes, she added.
The workshop would open up many cooperative chances for the two sides' hospitals, enterprises, universities and health bases, the Vietnamese official responded.
