Vietnam-Germany relations have constantly improved, especially in the field of economic co-operation, said deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung at a meeting with German Ambassador Rolf Schulze and leaders of the KFW Bank in Hanoi on August 12.
Mr Hung said that Vietnam is currently paying more attention to developing its transport infrastructure. He proposed that Germany assist Vietnam in developing its infrastructure, particularly transport projects such as the underground in Ho Chi Minh City, strengthening education and training and improving the qualifications of Vietnamese economic officials. The KFW Bank will work with the Vietnamese authorities to accelerate the disbursement of German ODA projects.
German Ambassador Schulze said Germany will strengthen co-operation with Vietnam in education, training and infrastructure.
Germany will also build a Vietnamese-German University in Vietnam in September and organise training courses for Vietnamese economic officials later this year.
