The annual Vietnam-China youth friendship meeting will be held in China from October 9-18 with a wide range of activities, such as meeting with Chinese leaders, seminars on youth activities, and visiting high tech parks and famous landscapes in the country.

The information was released at a press briefing in Hanoi on October 3 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee.

At the press briefing, HCYU Secretary Nguyen Hoang Hiep emphasised that the event is one of the most important activities in Vietnam-China youth co-operative relations. Through the meeting, youth from the two countries have the chance to gain a better understanding of people, land, culture and especially socio-economic development in their respective countries and promote their cooperative relations.

The first meeting was held in 2000 with nearly 100 delegates from each country. More than 1,500 delegates from two countries have so far taken part in 8 meetings.

The Vietnamese delegation comprised of 100 members led by HCYU Secretary Nguyen Hoang Hiep will join this year’s event.
