Vice-State President, Nguyen Thi Doan, on June 23rd, visited and presented VND 50 million to war veterans and their children in Vietnam Friendship Village on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of War Veteran and Martyr (July 27th) and the Action Month for children.

Vietnam Friendship Village, built in 1998, is home to many war veterans and AO victims. The care for these vistims is regarded as a token of gratitude those who had devoted their life for national independence.

Mrs. Doan encouraged the AO victims efforts in studying and in doing handicraft work and thanked the staff for taking care of war veterans and their children, who are suffering from some of the deadly consequences of Agent Orange.

Vice-President Doan expressed her delight that children in the village are living in good conditions and are given the best care and many of them have been step by step integrated into community.

She also hoped that the village would receive more support and assistance from both Vietnamese and international benefactors.
