Republic of Uruguay President Tabare Ramon Vazquez Rosas left Hanoi on November 20, successfully concluding a three-day official visit to Vietnam.
During meetings with the Uruguayan President, Vietnamese leaders placed great importance on developing friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Uruguay and Latin American nations. They thanked the government and people of Uruguay for their sentiment and valuable support to the people of Vietnam.
President Tabare Vazquez spoke highly of Vietnam’s renewal achievements over the past 20 years and reaffirmed his government’s determination to further strengthen friendly and cooperative relations with the Southeast Asian country.
The countries agreed to increase the exchange of visits at all levels and sectors in an effort to boost mutual understanding and find ways for effective cooperation.
Both sides pledged to create favourable conditions for businesses to establish direct ties, thus promoting cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the South American Common Market (Mercosur), as well as between East Asia and Latin America.
