The Institute of Oceanography in Nha Trang has the transferred technology to plant, process and maintain Caulerpa lentillifera (or green caviar, sea grapes) for soldiers and people on Truong Sa District.
The Institute will build two models for planting Caulerpa lentillifera in tanks in Naval Zone 4 in Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa Province, as well as train all techniques to plant and process it for 40 people.
Also, it has completed a document to introduce all necessary techniques for planting, maintaining and processing Caulerpa lentillifera, which is suitable to Truong Sa’s ecological and social-economic conditions.
Caulerpa lentillifera, grown at sea, is a popular edible seaweed. In recent years, it has been successfully cultivated in several sea ponds in Khanh Hoa.
