Le Thanh Tong is the king whose name and contributions closely linked to Vietnam’s prosperous stage in late 15th century. He had two titles of his reign, namely Quang Thuan (1460-1469) and Hong Duc (1470-1497). During his 38 years of ruling, King Le Thanh Tong had carried out reforms in politics, military, and economy; initiated the Hong Duc Code, marking a high level of civilization of Vietnam; and gave prominence to national cultural values. He himself was a great poet with a number of valuable poems.

The remarks at the seminar were compiled into a book as a gift to the participants. They are valuable documents as an appendix of a dossier to be submitted to UNESCO for the recognition of King Le Thanh Tong as a World Cultural Celebrity.
