The Prime Minister on February 16 signed a directive on continuing the Vietnamese youth development strategy for 2011-2020, and a relevant government resolution issued on September 11, 2009.
Accordingly, municipal and provincial authorities and ministers were asked to devise annual plans to realise the strategy between 2016 and 2020.

Ministries, agencies and localities were required to align youth development goals with local development while speeding up the issuance of policies and laws pertaining to youth, and strengthening State management by improving the staff’s professional capacity.
The directive also requests intensifying inspection and raising public awareness of youth roles and work amid current industrialisation and modernisation.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and socio-political organisations must monitor policy and law enforcement over youth work.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is responsible for overseeing the general implementation.
