An overview of the meeting

He called for greater efforts to complete the project, stressing that it is a difficult task with a broad scope, involving multiple research subjects and impacting all levels, sectors, and localities.

He urged promoting breakthroughs in scientific and technological development, innovation, and digital transformation for rapid and sustainable growth, noting that attention should be placed on green economy, digital economy, knowledge-based economy, circular economy, and sharing economy, particularly in emerging sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things.

After its establishment, the Steering Committee held its first meeting to outline the agenda, and define key tasks, perspectives, objectives, and directions for building the project to submit to the Politburo.

Subsequently, it organized eight seminars and dispatched working delegations to conduct surveys in localities; gathering feedback from ministries, sectors, local authorities, and its members to further refine the proposal.

The Government leader requested the Steering Committee’s members to discuss and provide opinions on the draft project, focusing on accurately assessing the role of the private economic sector and its current development status; identifying achievements and shortcomings; analyzing limitations, challenges, causes and lessons.

Delegates also proposed objectives, tasks, and solutions for private economic sector development, including measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of private enterprises, mechanisms and policies tailored to the sector to ensure feasibility, effectiveness, and alignment with market economy principles and Vietnam’s international commitments.

With the perspective that "resources come from mindset, motivation comes from innovation, and strength comes from the people," PM Pham Minh Chinh asked delegates to value their time, leverage their intellect, and engage in discussions with a spirit of innovation to promptly finalize the project and submit it to the Politburo.
