Party General Secretary and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong sent condolences on April 2 to the landslide victims’ families and provincial authorities in Nghe An.
In his letter, Mr. Trong wrote that he was very sad to hear the news of the landslide in Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district of Nghe An on April 1 that killed dozens and injured many others.
On behalf of the Party and State, Mr. Trong expressed deep sorrow over the landslide and asked relevant agencies and Nghe An provincial authorities to continue rescue efforts and the search for landslide victims. He also said injured victims should be given proper treatment and incentives so they can resume production and stabilise their lives as quickly as possible.
