Later in the afternoon, a group from the Vietnam-Germany hospital travelled to Cho Ray Hospital and by 5.30pm they received the heart and the liver donated by the patient before flying back to Hanoi. Immediately after they arrived in Hanoi, the operations began at 11.30pm and were completed at 5am the next day.

According to a doctor at the Vietnam-Germany Hospital, “The heart transplant operation lasted for 6.5 hours and the liver transplant took 7.5 hours. Both operations were successful as the doctors are experienced in such cases.”
By late September 6th, more than a day after the operations, the two patients were in good condition and were able to enjoy light meals.

In the end, the will of the brain-dead patient has been carried out and the lives of two patients have been saved, upholding the noble spirit of organ donors.
