Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Le Hong Anh, accompanied by leaders of the Vietnam Women’s Union, visited and extended congratulations to veteran revolutionary Pham Thi Trinh who has received the 85-year Party membership insignia, on February 4th.

Born in 1914, Trinh joined the revolution and became a Party member at the age of 16. She was arrested twice and brutally tortured by enemies, but upheld her revolutionary spirit with resilience.

During her 20 years of service with the Vietnam Women’s Union, she was elected as a deputy to the National Assembly’s second and fifth tenures.

Anh praised her contributions to the Party’s revolution as well as national development. He also wished the revolutionary good health and happiness on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet).

For her part, Trinh expressed her utmost belief in the Party’s leadership as well as the bright future of the country.

The same day, Dinh The Huynh, member of the Politburo, standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and Head of the Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, visited and extended Tet greetings to outstanding intellectuals, artists and scientists in Hanoi.

Huynh stated that the Party and State recognise and highly value each individual’s contributions to progress in science, education and training, healthcare, literature and art, and their role in boosting the socio-economic growth of the country.

The intellectuals, artists and scientists pledged to continue their efforts to make achievements in their fields and contribute to national construction.
