PANO - The 75th anniversary of the Nam Ky Uprising against the French domination in southern Vietnam was celebrated on November 21st at Nga Ba Giong War Martyrs Monument in Xuan Thoi Thuong commune, Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh City. Former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai, the local authorities and people attended the event.

At the anniversary, Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong recalled the locals' heroic traditions and details of the historic uprising, which broke out in southern provinces on November 23rd 1940 and gave much experience to the victories of the August Revolution and the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising.

At the event, the city's leaders presented the State President's 50 gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers, policy families and revolutionary contributors. In addition, delegates attended an art performance at the monument in celebration of the anniversary on the same day.
