He affirmed that Vietnam always attaches much importance to strengthening friendship with Palestine, supporting for the Palestinian people’s just war and hopes that political sides there reach a peaceful solution and reconciliation.
Mr Trong emphasised that the Vietnamese NA is willing to share legislative and supervising experiences with Palestinian Parliament and hoped that in the near future the two sides will boost parliamentarian diplomacy activities, exchange visits and soon establish a Vietnam-Palestine friendship parliamentarian group.
President Abbas thanked for the warm welcome and expressed his delight that his visit coincided with the 120th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Mr Abbas said Palestinian people admire the Vietnamese people’s bravery in the past struggle against colonialists and imperialists, and acknowledged it was a valuable lesson for Palestinians to follow.
