The members discussed and gave opinions to the progress, results, difficulties and obstacles regarding the investigation, prosecution and trial of cases under the supervision of the committee.
They agreed to complete the investigation, prosecution and trial of 12 cases that are under the supervision of the committee in 2017.

The permanent members requested authorized agencies to make greater efforts and enhance coordination to address difficulties and speed up the investigation, prosecution and trial of serious cases, focusing on three remainders out of the six cases mentioned in the notice No.30-TB/BCDTW issued by the committee.
They also asked relevant agencies to further investigate the case at the PetroVietnam Construction Corporation (PVC), and pursue and extradite Trinh Xuan Thanh to serve the investigation and trial.
The participants agreed to establish eight working teams of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption to inspect and supervise the prosecution, investigation, and trial of complicated and serious corruption and economic cases of public concerns in 20 provinces and cities nationwide.
Concluding the meeting, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong spoke highly of the recent efforts by relevant agencies as well as members of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, which have brought in remarkable results.
However, there is much work to be done in the time ahead, requiring the closer coordination among authorized agencies, he noted.
At the meeting, the participants also agreed to assign Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, deputy head of the committee, to participate in directing authorized agencies to settle a number of serious economic and corruption cases when requested.
