PANO – Project 47 Management Board, under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, has reviewed the construction of the land border patrol route in 2010 and plans for 2011.
The route is designed to run through 25 border provinces from Quang Ninh to Kien Giang.
The total length of the route will be 10,196 km, making it the longest road running along Vietnam’s land border.
In 2010, under the instruction of the Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff, more than 220 units involved in the project caught up with the construction schedule and quality requirements of the route.
Notably, the construction expense was lower than the regulations issued by the Ministry of Construction.
In the 2011–2015 period, the Project 47 Management Board and relevant units plan to step up their efforts to complete the construction as scheduled to support socio-economic development in the border areas and national defence.
