A young man in Kon Tum donating blood

PANO – The Kon Tum provincial and Can Tho city Steering Boards for Blood Donation have held ceremonies in response to the Voluntary Blood Donation Day (April 7th).

In Kon Tum, the program drew nearly 600 young people and troops from units stationed in the province to donate their blood, aiming to ease blood shortages at local hospitals.

According to Le Thi Kim Don, Deputy Chairwoman of the Kon Tum People’s Committee and Head of the Steering Board, it targets to collect about 2,700 units of blood this year.

Meanwhile, since last year, residents in Can Tho city have donated more than 30,000 units of blood.

At the meeting, the city’s Steering Board for Blood Donation presented merit certificates to nearly 30 organizations and individuals for their contributions to blood donation movements.
