Deputies vote to pass a resolution on several special mechanisms and policies for the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project |
The resolution, which consists of five articles, takes effect from February 19.
The investment policy of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project was approved by the National Assembly at Resolution 41/2009/QH12, dated November 25, 2009. Its construction was halted in 2016.
On November 30, 2024, the 15th legislature passed a resolution on the restart of the project.
Accordingly, the resolution outlined the planning of the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant in Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district, and the Ninh Thuan 2 Nuclear Power Plant in Vinh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district of the South-central province, with a combined area of 1,642 hectares. The construction was estimated to impact 1,100 households with nearly 4,000 people.
