Italy will provide 38.1 million EUR in preferential credits to help Vietnam implement three projects on improving safe water system and environmental hygiene.
Three memoranda of understanding to the effect was signed by Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrea Perugini and Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Cao Viet Sinh in Hanoi on May 22.
Ca Mau City in the southernmost province of Ca Mau will receive 13.6 million EUR to upgrade its waste water treatment and drainage systems while Nui Thanh urban area of central Quang Nam province is to benefit from a 9.5 million EUR environmental hygiene and drainage project.
A 15 million EUR project will provide safe water to Ham Thuan Bac area and build an irrigation system in Bac Binh area in central Binh Thuan province.
