To mark the event, the Chu Lai - Truong Hai port received a ship of SITC, one of the largest South Korean container shipping companies. The ship was 162m in length, with a capacity of over 1,100 TEUs, traveling from Incheon port, South Korea.
The same day, Thaco Company also started the expansion of the Chu Lai - Truong Hai port (pier No.1, Tam Hiep, Ky Ha), at a cost of VND 200 billion. The project, which is scheduled to be completed in February next year, aims to lengthen the pier to 500m from 300m and dredge the seabed to allow vessels with a capacity of up to 30,000 tons to dock at the port by 2018.
