PANO – The British Council in Vietnam presented the IELTS Award to Vu Dinh Hung, the first Vietnamese candidate to win the award for East Asia, and to the top four winners of the domestic award on August 12th.

With a score of 8.5, Hung surpassed over 900 candidates from 11 countries and territories in the region to win the £12,000 award. Four other students from Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore also won the award. At the ceremony, Hung presented his article "Introducing your favourite place in your hometown to foreign friends," which helped him earn the award.
IELTS is the world's most popular English language test, which is accepted by over 9,000 global organizations. The IELTs award is an initiative of the Global British Council for young talents to have opportunities to study abroad.
Since 2011, the award has helped 123 East Asian students study abroad.
