Work on a number of major traffic projects under the Public-Private- Partnership model in Ho Chi Minh City are expected to begin in 2016, said the municipal Department of Transport.

Nine projects worth over 14 trillion VND (638.7 million USD) include the Thu Thiem 2 bridge, the D3 road linking to Sai Gon- Hiep Phuoc port, a road connecting Vo Van Kiet road with HCM City-Trung Luong Expressway and a section from Pham Van Dong road to Go Dua crossroads.

Binh Tien bridge and road, Nguyen Van Linh-Nguyen Huu Tho intersection, a section linking An Lac intersection and Long An province, two public waterways projects, and the right section of the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway are also on the list.

Some underground car park projects at Le Van Tam Park, Trong Dong Theatre, Tao Dan Park, and Hoa Lu Stadium are scheduled to commence this year.

In addition, other 28 projects with a total investment capital of 5 trillion VND (227.3 million USD) are anticipated to kick off in the same year, such as the My Thuy intersection, An Suong underpass, and Nhi Thuong Duong 1 bride.

Also in 2016, the city expects to complete 15 major traffic projects worth nearly 2.3 trillion VND (104.5 million USD).
