Hanoi discusses developing economy after COVID-19
A range of important issues were on the agenda at the 14th session of the 15th Hanoi People’s Council on May 15, aimed at boosting the capital’s socio-economic development after the COVID-19 is fully brought under control.
Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said that, during the pandemic, Hanoi and other localities nationwide implemented Party and Government policies and orientations, including the dual tasks of preventing the spread of the virus while developing the socio-economy, and maintaining social order and safety and political stability and security.
Hanoi will consider adjusting investment in major projects to develop economic infrastructure, transportation, irrigation, and education and training, Ngoc said, adding that the city will also provide more support for those affected by the pandemic.
The Council adopted a resolution stipulating certain regulations and expenditure for COVID-19 prevention and control and another on adjusting investment policies for some projects using local budget funds.
