150 students and youths in Nhu Thanh district, Thanh Hoa province on March 16th joined the forest planting program, “For a Green Vietnam 2012”, at Ben En National Park. The event was organized by Thanh Hoa provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ben En National Park, the Nhu Thanh District’s People’s Committee and Canon Vietnam. 

This second tree-planting program carried out Canon Vietnam in Ben En National Park is expected to cover green over 30 hectares of land and to raise youths’ awareness and responsibility of environmental protection.

Mr. Kambe Makoto, Senior Manager of Planning Department of Canon Vietnam said, “Through the program, I hope that Vietnamese youngsters will be fully aware of environmental protection. If everybody plants and protects trees, we can have a green Vietnam”.

Also, on March 25th, Canon Ltd. Company will work with the People’s Committee of Luc Ngan District, Bac Giang Province, the Management Board of Cam Son protective forest to launch the similar program in the district. As scheduled, 400 students from Luc Ngan High School and 100 volunteers of Canon will plant trees in the protective forest.

Launched in 2010, the project, “For a Green Vietnam” has planted 70 hectare of protective forest in Thanh Hoa and Bac Giang provinces.
