Major General Tran Van Minh presents gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers. |
At the reception, the General inquired after their health and granted gifts to the delegates and briefed them on the gratitude activities of troops in the whole army. Over the past time, the Ministry of National Defence has actively collected and repatriated remains of fallen soldiers, built gratitude houses, helped people overcome natural disaster consequences, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, taken care of martyrs’ children, created jobs for war invalids’ children as well as provided medical equipment for convalescent centres.
The Director of the Department of Policy hoped that in the time to come, the heroic Vietnamese mothers would promote revolutionary heroism to help people grasp and believe in the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws, contributing to making their homeland more prosperous and securer.
Hiep Duc district alone has up to 2,020 martyrs, 618 war invalids, 260 prisoners of war, 243 heroic Vietnamese mothers (23 of them are alive) and 2,851 Agent Orange victims.
