Jointly launched by the People’s Army Newspaper, the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, and the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), the organizing panel of the contest has received nearly 620 entries from more than 50 press agencies nationwide. Thirty two out of 60 works entering the final round, accounting for 53%, are long enough to have been published in three or five issues. This has demonstrated the due attention, great efforts, and intelligence of press agencies and each author in order to improve the quality of each entry.

According to the organizers, in this third edition, many works have focused on analyzing, emphasizing that protecting the fundamental and everlasting values of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s Thought, Political Platform of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the maintenance of the absolute and direct leadership of the Party over the armed forces in all aspects, contributing to protecting the Party’s ideological foundation. Some works have found new approaches, closely looking at specific issues, such as criticizing the wrongful views about internationalism of the working class; preventing and combating xenophilia in education; refuting the allegations that distort the Party's policy on “people benefiting;” fighting against hostile forces' plots of psychological manipulation; exposing the misrepresentation of social assistance policies in Vietnam; debunking political conspiracy theories of hostile forces; among others.

Notably, many other works have closely followed real situations, given timely response and resolutely combat against malicious and hostile information recently posted on social media, such as misrepresenting newly-published books by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; distorting the Vietnamese bamboo diplomacy; and inciting a plot to establish the so-called “Provisional Government of Vietnam” in Lam Dong. Other works have criticized and fought signs of degradations in terms of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, signs of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” of some Party cadres and members, and distortions and deviations in cultural, literary, artistic, entertainment activities.

The contest has helped strengthen trust, solidarity, and unity in the Party, political system, and the consensus of the society in building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

This is a correct, timely direction that meets both the Party and people's will,” said Prof., Dr. Hoang Chi Bao.
