PANO – The Ministry of Transport, the Cuu Long Traffic Infrastructure Investment, Development and Management Corporation and other contractors began construction of the Cao Lanh Bridge in the southern province of Dong Thap on October 19th, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh.
Crossing the Tien river, the 2km bridge, with four lanes for motorized vehicles at a speed of 80km/h and two other lanes for non-motorized ones, will cost US$145 million (VND 3,037 billion), including the Australian Government’s non-refundable aid, a loan from the Asia Development Bank (ADB) and the Vietnamese Government’s budget.
The Chinese Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and the Vietnam’s Vinaconex E&C Group are contractors.
The project will be put into operation in May 2017.
