PANO – More than 600 former political prisoners in Ho Chi Minh City attended a get-together on February 11th.
They recalled the revolutionary struggling tradition of those who had been detained in Phu Quoc Prison in Kien Giang province and Phu Tai Prison in Binh Dinh province.
Despite barbarous torture, the prisoners still kept firm stance and confidence in the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, and promoted solidarity to gain many feats of arms, becoming good examples for younger generations.
During the meeting, they shared their experience in learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s noble examples, upholding the virtues of Uncle Ho, helping needy comrades improve living standards, and actively participating in local social activities.
On this occasion, the city People’s Committee granted merit certificates to 25 former political prisoners with outstanding achievements in the renewal (doi moi) period.
