MOET finishes  delivery of 89 million printed textbooks across the country for the next academic session.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MET) has finished delivery of 89 million printed textbooks across the country for the next academic session, an increase of 2 million copies since the last school year.

During the second quarter, MET provided enough English textbooks and teacher books for all pupils and teachers in schools participating in the project "Teaching and Learning Foreign Languages in the National Education System from 2008-2020”.

The Vietnam Education Publishing House, in additon, has released about 155 million educational support products, including pictures, maps, CDs, cassettes, reference books, learning and teaching tools.

To date 71,000 packs of textbooks, worth more than VND7.5 billion (US$366,000) have been distributed to children of wounded soldiers and martyrs.

The ministry wants to see that all students in the country receive proper and sufficient textbooks for learning. Estimates show that 60 percent pupils use new textbooks, 30 percent use old ones and 10 percent use borrowed textbooks.
