A meeting to present Certificates of Merit to 44 foreign diplomatic offices, NGOs, businesses with foreign direct investment (FDI) and 38 foreign specialists working in Quang Nam Province was held by the People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province on December 19th, aiming to honour their contributions to Quang Nam Province in 2011.

In 2011, Quang Nam signed an MOU to receive over USD10 million in aid from foreign NGOs, focusing on agriculture, education, health, community development, environment, and charity, with disbursements reaching over USD 4 million from various organisations, such as World Vision, East Meets West, the Catholic Relief Services (CRS).

Also, the Province received four ODA projects and has been implementing 11 transitional projects, with a total disbursement estimated at nearly USD22 million, as well as issued 9 new permits for FDI, which brings the total number of projects to 81, with over USD5 billion in registered capital.

Especially, enterprises with foreign investment also contributed nearly USD 24 million to the State budget and created jobs for 15,000 workers.
