PANO – Vietnam’s Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command and Laos’ Khammouan provincial Military Command co-held a Vietnam – Laos friendship exchange program at the provincial border guard command level on July 15.

The highlight of the exchange program was the inauguration and hand-over ceremony of the “Light in the border areas” project conducted by the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command for local people in Nachak village, Bualapha district, Khammouan province, and the signing of cooperation agreements between border stations of Quang Binh and Khammouan provinces.

Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Senior Colonel Trinh Thanh Binh, Commanding Officer of the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command, shared that the project aimed to support the local authorities and people in socio-economic development, raise local people’s living standards, and ensure security, social order and safety in border areas. Meanwhile, the project contributed to promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries’ parties, states, and people, including Vietnam’s Quang Binh province and the Lao province of Khammouan, border residents and border guards. 

Within the framework of the program, the organizing panel held a wide range of activities, such as free medical check-ups and medicines, scholarship presentation, VND-zero stall program, tree planting, and so on.
