He highlighted the important role of OV intellectuals and scientists, affirming the city’s commitment to facilitating their participation, removing obstacles and expanding consultation channels to incorporate their input.
Representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang acknowledged Hanoi’s strong progress in science, technology and innovation, identified as priority areas, and praised the constructive contributions made by expatriates at the meeting.
Despite global difficulties in 2025, she said, the OV community remained united and closely connected to the homeland, demonstrating solidarity through practical support activities, particularly during natural disasters.
As Vietnam enters a new development stage, overseas Vietnamese have also contributed to drafting Party documents and resolutions with about 2,500 comments and hundreds of congratulatory messages, she noted, thanking Hanoi authorities for strengthening engagement with the diaspora.
At the meeting, participants proposed initiatives in science, technology and innovation, including strengthening the national innovation network, applying artificial intelligence solutions and developing smart, sustainable urban models. They also expressed readiness to continue contributing knowledge, experience and resources to Hanoi’s future growth.
