More than 7 million VND was presented to 12 households in North Hoa Hiep commune of the central city of Da Nang and in Duy Xuyen commune of Quang Nam province on January 2 to support their children by the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Adelaide in coordination with Labour newspaper’s Office in Da Nang.
This significant amount was raised by students who are studying in Adelaide city, Australia, aiming to partly create good studying condition for students in Vietnam, especially those in typhoon-hit areas.
Previously, the association granted 4.5 million VND to Truong Thi Tram, a student in grade 10 at Que Son high school in Quang Nam province. Tram is an orphan and suffering from serious goiters. She needs money to treat her disease so she can return to school.
