Vietnamese people residing in the UAE and Libya have raised funds for their homeland’s flood victims.
The Vietnamese embassy in the United Arab Emirates called for donations to assist flood victims in Vietnam’s central provinces.
The programme was supported by the embassy staff and the Vietnamese community in the UAE. So far, US$1,957 (VND40 million) has been raised.
Nguyen Quang Khai, Vietnamese ambassador to the UAE, thanked the Vietnamese community for the donations and promised to send the money to the country.
Vietnamese nationals in Libya also raised US$3,150 to assist the flood victims. Vietnamese embassy staff in Libya donated their one-day salary earlier.
