The Vietnamese embassies in many countries around the world hosted activities to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the diplomatic service (August 28, 1945).

At a ceremony in Japan on August 25, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong read the congratulatory message of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh sent to all diplomatic staff.

On this occasion, Cuong launched an emulation movement celebrating the service’s founding anniversary.

The celebratory event was also attended by Politburo member and National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who is in Japan for a visit to attend the World Assembly for Women in Tokyo.

Ngan appreciated the dedication of Vietnam’s diplomatic staff over the past seven decades which has helped raise the country’s stature in the global arena.

Similar activities marking the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s diplomatic service were also organized by the embassies in Sri Lanka, Algeria, Norway, Slovakia, Mexico and Venezuela.
