Vietnamese community in France urged to be more unity
The Vietnamese State always creates favorable conditions and takes measures to support the Vietnamese community abroad in general, and those in Toulouse in particular to live stably, integrate into the host countries, and preserve and promote Vietnam’s cultural identity, according to Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang.
The diplomat reiterated this during a meeting with representatives from the Vietnamese community in Toulouse city of France on April 2, during which he highly valued the role played by the Vietnamese student and youth associations in the city. He expressed his hope that the associations of Vietnamese students and youth in Toulouse will continue their efforts and serve as a core force to promote community movements.
According to Chairman of the Vietnamese students' association in Toulouse Luong Ba Khanh Lam, Toulouse is always one of the localities recording the largest number of Vietnamese students.
As a key member of the Vietnamese community in this city, the association has actively participated in activities to connect with expatriates living here, contributing to building a strong community, he said.
The Vietnamese community in Toulouse is also one of the most connected communities, reflecting in activities to help the people facing difficulties, he added.
Representatives of the Vietnamese students' association in Toulouse also expressed their wish for support from the Embassy and the Union of Vietnam Students in France (UEVF) to be able to organise more practical activities.
