Before the ceremony, officers and staff of the Nghe An provincial Military Command’s team in charge of searching for and collecting martyrs’ remains offered incense in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs at the War Cemetery of Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province. 

During the 2023-2024 dry season, Nghe An province’s team successfully collected 87 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who laid down their lives while conducting international service in Laos. Solemn memorial and burial services were organized by the local party committees, authorities, and people of Nghe An province to honor the sacrifices of the fallen for the cause of national liberation, reunification, and international duty.

For the 2024-2025 dry season, the Nghe An provincial Military Command's search and collection team is tasked with locating and collecting 80 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who died in the provinces of Xiangkhouang, Vientiane, and Xaysomboun in Laos.

To effectively fulfill this mission, the provincial Steering Committee 515 has developed and strictly implemented a plan of surveying, searching for, and collecting martyrs' remains in the 2024-2025 dry season; prepared necessary equipment; and fostered dissemination and education to raise troops’ determination, command of the Lao language, professional competence, and skills to conduct mass mobilization work.

Given the challenging conditions in information gathering and searching, the National Steering Committee 515, Military Region 4’s Steering Committee 515, and Nghe An province’s Steering Committee 515 require the team to maintain a high sense of responsibility and regularly coordinate with local party committees, authorities, armed forces, and relevant agencies in Laos; enhance dissemination to mobilize the Lao people to provide information and support the search and collection efforts.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Nghe An provincial People’s Committee and head of the province’s Steering Committee 515 Bui Dinh Long asked members of the team to uphold their responsibilities and determination to overcome all difficulties to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
