“Zero-VND Stall” in Vinh Loc B commune of Binh Chanh district |
Organizers handed over five tons of rice, 5,000 eggs, 500 bottles of fish sauce, 500 bottles of soybean sauce, 500 bottles of cooking oil, more than 500 packages of dried fish, three tons of vegetable, hundreds of boxes of instant noodles and medical face masks to support local residents in Ho Chi Minh City to overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. These gifts were donated by local organizations, businesses and benefactors.
During the event, COVID-19 prevention and control regulations were strictly observed. Apart from measuring recipients’ body temperatures, the participating staff reminded them of strictly following the Health Ministry’s “5K” regulations (Khau trang (face mask), Khu khuan (disinfection), Khoang cach (distancing), Khong tu tap (no large gathering), and Khai bao y te (health declaration)) and the city’s Directive N.10.

According to Deputy Political Chief of Military Region 7 Senior Colonel Nguyen Cong Anh, the program is expected to contribute to the local leadership’s efforts in taking care of local people amid the COVID-19 pandemic, thus strengthening the military-civilian relationship and enriching the tradition of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
Over the past time, in response to the guidelines of Military Region 7’s Party Committee and Command, its units and agencies have organized various activities to support local residents in need during the pandemic. Various models, including “Rice ATMs,” “Zero-VND Stalls,” “Gifts of Sentiment,” and “Zero-VND Markets”, were launched and have greatly contributed to taking care of local people and encouraging frontline forces in the pandemic fight.
Anh added that in the coming time, agencies and units under Military Region 7 will continue working with local leadership and agencies to contain the virus, contributing to creating a safe environment for socio-economic development.
