At the event, the unit’s mission presented 300 gift packages to COVID-19-affected children in Cu Chi district. Each gift package, worth VND 300,000, included medical facemasks, hand sanitizer, milk, eggs, cookies, books, and studying equipment, among others.
This activity in Cu Chi district was part of the program to present 5,000 gifts to pandemic-affected children in localities in the southern city. The program was co-hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Military Command, Thien Minh Saigon Club, and socio-political organizations in the city.
Talking about the program, Deputy Political Chief of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Command Colonel Nguyen Van Trung said that these gifts may not be worth much in value, but they demonstrated the responsibility of the city’s armed forces and socio-political organizations for taking care of needy children.
Through the program, the organizers expected to encourage children to continue studying to become good citizens, so as to contribute to building a civilized, modern, and compassionate city, Colonel Trung added.
