The deputy chief of the General Staff wished the wounded soldiers and policy beneficiaries to continue promoting good virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and the national traditions and setting bright examples for younger generation to follow.
The same day, the mission laid wreath and offered incense to fallen troops at Tan Bien War Cemetery, presented gifts to the cemetery management board and other gifts to 20 wounded soldiers and typical policy beneficiary families in Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province.
On the occasion, wounded soldiers at Long Dat convalescent center received gifts from Military Region 7 and the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Military Command. Military Region 7 also presented gifts to outstanding policy beneficiaries in Tan Bien district.
Meanwhile, authorized by the CMC and MND, a delegation from Military Region 1 has visited and handed over MND gifts to Bac Giang provincial convalescent center for national contributors and 15 wounded and sick soldiers there.
Apart from the center, Military Region 1 also presented its gifts to Duy Ten convalescent center for wounded soldiers in Ha Nam province and three wounded and sick soldiers under care there.
Also on July 11, a mission from the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Vietnam Border Guard Command offered incense at Po Hen fallen troops-dedicated monument in Hai Son commune, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province. Later on, they reminisced about the bravery, undauntedness, and sacrifice of troops of Po Hen Border Post under the Quang Ninh provincial Border Guard Command in the struggle to safeguard national border sovereignty and security.
On the occasion, the delegation presented 20 gifts to policy beneficiary and poor households in Hai Son commune.
Earlier, from July 8-10, a delegation from the Saigon Newport Corporation under the Naval Service commemorated fallen troops at Truong Son National War Cemetery, Road 9 National War Cemetery, Quang Tri ancient citadel. They also offered incense to late General Vo Nguyen Giap at his memorial house.
Recently, a mission from the Vietnam Women’s Union visited heroic Vietnamese mothers Nguyen Thi Gioi, aged 97, in An Vinh Ngai commune, and Vo Thi Xe, aged 84, in Nhon Thanh Trung commune, Tan An city, Long An province. The mission also presented gifts to 20 women from families of wounded and fallen troops and national contributors in Chau Thanh, Thu Thua, Tan Tru districts and Tan An city,
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2022), Quang Tri province opens relic sites and war cemeteries at night for local people and tourists, starting July 12.
In particular, locals and visitors can visit Quang Tri ancient citadel special national relic site and the flower-releasing wharf by the Thach Han River in Quang Tri town since July 12. From July 17 evening, they will be able visit Hien Luong - Ben Hai special national historical relic site.
Notably, in this month, fallen troops’ families, local people, and tourists are allowed to visit Road 9 and Truong Son National War Cemeteries from 19:00 to 21:00 to pay tribute to heroes and fallen soldiers.
