Gen. Huong took this chance to express thanks to the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP for their care for all level veterans’ associations and for mobilizing all troops to support and give donations to policy beneficiary families and national contributors as well as for helping the VVA Central Committee and its chapters operating effectively.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Gen. Cuong congratulated the VVA Central Committee on its achievements. He stressed that the CMC, leaders of the MND and GDP treasure and highly appreciated the close coordination between the association and the military in disseminating information and boosting education to raise the association’s personnel and people’s awareness of realizing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, consolidating defense-security posture, carrying out movements launched by the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, military, VVA and local authorities.

Gen. Cuong spoke highly of the good results in the coordination in mass mobilization work, building grassroots political system, implementing projects on collecting remains of fallen troops and identifying them, actualizing policies for wounded, sick soldiers, martyrs’ families and carrying out gratitude activities.

The CMC permanent member hoped that the association will promote its ties with the military, contributing to the military building, defense consolidation, and national socio-economic development.

The same day, Gen. Cuong offered incense to Late General Secretary Le Kha Phieu at his house, expressing his respect for and gratitude to the Party leader’s devotion and great contribution to the Party, State, military and people. Talking to the late leader’s family, Gen. Cuong hoped that they would promote the family’s tradition, and contribute to the development of the nation and the military.

During the visits to Gen. Nguyen Quyet who is former secretary of the Party Central Committee, former deputy head of the State Council, and ex-GDP Director and Sr. Lt. Gen. Pham Thanh Ngan who is former Politburo member and former GDP Director, Gen. Cuong informed them about the whole military’s attainments in implementing Party and political work in the first six months of this year and in carrying out gratitude activities. Gen. Cuong wished his two predecessors good health and hoped that they will pay attention to and make contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the military.

Delighted at the military’s outcomes, both generals expressed belief in the military’s current leadership and hoped that the military will stay united in terms of will and actions, build a healthy and strong Military Party Organization, and fulfill all assignments.
