Later in the day, ship SAR 413 with the unconscious fisherman on board docked at the port of the MRCC Region 2 and completed necessary documentation to hand over the fisherman and a representative of ship Hoang Thien Phu 18 to the Provincial Border Guard Command.

Also on September 17, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Binh, commander of Kim Son Border Post in Ninh Binh province said on the previous day, staff of the border post and Kim Son fishermen successfully saved three fishermen who fell overboard from trawler KG 94896 TS due to strong winds and rough seas caused by the powerful storm Doksuri.

Officer Binh recounted that on September 16 evening, the post’s patrol team spotted some people floating at a position 2km off Con Noi Border Control Station. The post immediately sent speedboats to pick up the distressed crewmen, including Captain Bui Thanh Binh and fishermen Danh Nhat Xuan and Danh Thanh; they then administered first aid, fresh water and food to the fishermen, who are being cared for at the post and are now recovering from their ordeal.

Kim Son Border Post is contacting the Steering Committee on National Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Ninh Binh province and other relevant forces to take the fishermen home.
